When an Engineering firm, tasked with assisting a luxury property with a 15th floor swimming pool in downtown Miami Florida, needed help with a reclamation project, they contacted the SIGMA Trench Drain team. The original construction was faulty, with a questionable water proofing system incorporated, resulting in water intrusion throughout the pool deck area. The fact that the pool was on the 15th floor of the building meant that swift action was needed to correct this problem to prevent further damage to the entire building.
The SIGMA Trench Drain Team, in conjunction with the design Engineer, came up with the unique approach to install the HYDROTEC MINI System inside of planters instead of on the surface of the pool deck. The trench drains were mechanically fastened through the channel sidewall into the planter wall and through the channel bottom into a steel angle.
This application demonstrated the versatility of the product line, the creativity of the design team, and, most importantly, solved the problem in an effective, aesthetically pleasing fashion.
