Orlando Gaddis joined the SIGMA team in the Alexander City Manufacturing facility five years ago. He started out as a temp employee hired to work in the trim department. He mastered that job with ease, and soon pursued an opportunity to work as a machine operator. Orlando was successful as a machine operator, and then quickly mastered the Ferry machine. Soon, he began working on the Rotoline, and within a week, he was a pro. From that point, Orlando assumed responsibility for the maintenance of the entire facility, and was promoted to maintenance supervisor.
Jess Johnson, Operations Manager at the Sigma-Raven ALX location and Product Specialist comments, “There has never been a time when I have asked Orlando to take on a task that he didn’t quickly jump on and excel. We are blessed to have him on our team.” Jeremy Love, Operations Manager at the SIGMA-Raven Ohio plant adds, “I first met Orlando when I went to Alex City to train in preparation for my job at the Ohio facility. Within five minutes of meeting him I could tell he was someone special. He has a very positive attitude, and he was instrumental in the startup of the Ohio plant. He came to our facility, worked long hours getting everyone up to speed, always with a smile on his face. His reliability, consistency, and strong work ethic really inspired the team in Ohio, and we are always asking when he’s coming back to visit!”
When he’s not working hard at the SIGMA-Raven manufacturing facility, Orlando loves to travel with his wife. Their favorite destination is Philadelphia. The couple has also run a day-care center for 24 years, and have helped raise many local children. Orlando has two sons, a grandchild that he adores, and he spends his leisure time restoring old cars and riding his motorcycle.
