Rybacki Memorial Invitational to benefit “The Jimmy Fund” at Dana Farber

Dear Family and Friends,

The Rybacki Memorial is 25 years old this year and on behalf of my wife Chris, sister Cyndi Paradise, brother-in-law Bob, sister Dian Laganelli and brother-in-law John, I want to thank all the sponsors and participants that have made this event so special. With so many friends fighting cancer, I’m glad we play a small part in trying to “punch cancer in the mouth” — as my friend Bernie Pipan often says. Every year the folks at Dana Farber find new ways to not only slow down this awful disease, but also in many cases eradicate it.

This year thanks to our friend Joel Gore: All the money raised will be earmarked to Dr. Arnie Freedman at D.F.C.I. who is the head of Leukemia and Lymphoma research. Every year it seems that someone else in the extended Rybacki Memorial family gets stricken: Most recently Sue Loughead, the wife of Dennis Loughead (from Toronto), contracted brain cancer. All our thoughts and prayers are with Sue and the Loughead family.

In conclusion, It humbles me how much this tournament has grown over the 25 years since my father died. The first year at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northboro we had 16 golfers and raised just over $1,000.00. Last year we were sold out with 128 golfers and raised over $60,000.00. The spirit of giving back is alive and well in the waterworks industry.

How lucky am I to have such a terrific family and so many wonderful friends in the waterworks industry. It’s been a great ride and the best is yet to come. Thank you all for supporting this fundraiser! See you on the 28th.
